Relayforge designed the system as a pipeline-driven edge runtime. **Protocol Abstraction Layer** Unified support for Modbus (TCP/RTU), BACnet, and PLC integrations.

This avoids fragmented integrations and standardizes data ingestion. **Edge Processing Pipeline** Collector → Processor → Uploader.

Each stage handles ingestion, normalization, batching, and transmission.
